What ages of kids can attend your camps?

Our camps are for kids of all ages from 5 - 18.

I am concerned that a seven hour camp is too long for my child. Can kids really play chess all day?

As a parent and with several years of experience running chess camps for kids we learned to balance chess with other fun activities for kids. If weather permits we take the students outside every hour to play soccer, basketball, or just stretch their legs. We also shift the focus during the instruction period the students are moved efficiently every 10-15 minutes between lecture,  practice exercises, and review. Finally, at the end of the day and at lunch students are allowed free time.

What is your company's experience with kids and teaching chess?

Our primary instructors, Radu Roua and Anthony Hann have several years of experience teaching chess to kids. Anthony Hann and several of our instructors are also parents. To ensure the security, Chess Vision also completes background checks for all of their instructors. We also have personal references available upon request.

My child is a beginner, is your camp appropriate for him or her?

We have taught kids at all levels of experience, from those students learning the moves to state champions. To get the most out of our full day program students should learn the basic rules and how the pieces move, although this is not necessary.

Why should my child attend more than one chess camp?

Each Chess Vision camp has a different curriculum focusing on a different opening, tactical theme, strategical concept and endgame.
